The Interessengemeinschaft mehrsprachiger Familien e.V. was an organization for families whose children were growing up multilingual. Its aim was to encourage and advise parents through the exchange of experience and up-to-date information.
The organization also sought to help families find others using the same minority language, making it easier to organize playgroups and other shared activities.
Its activities included lectures, discussion evenings, an information bank and the quarterly newsletter Polyglott. The association also worked to reduce prejudice and misconceptions about bilingualism in the wider public.
